Rooms with a view...

ABOUT

ABOUT

Ideally situated in Puylaroque, a hill-top medieval village in SW France and with wonderful views,"Les Chimères" (means dreams & fantasies) offers a pleasant change from hotels due to Lisanne Ashton's artistic influence and helpful hospitality.

If 'en route', it's much more than a simple stopover and, if on holiday, it's an ideal base from which to visit Cahors, Montauban, Albi and Toulouse, as well as the many delightful Bastide villages.

Oh, forgot to mention...winner of "4 in a bed in France"!

ROOMS

ROOMS

ROMANTIC

The “Romantic” has a classical feel with Henry II furniture (copy circa 1900!) and a colour scheme ranging from damask rose to burgundy.

The bathroom has a roll top bath ….lion’s feet to boot!

The bedroom has a double bed and an adjacent small sitting room with a child's bed.

RUSTIC

The “Rustic” has a more countrified feel with stone walls, rush matting and  a vivid, yet harmonious, colour scheme. The bathroom includes his and hers washbasins and a bidet.

THINGS TO DO

THINGS TO DO
What a choice...

The village has shops including a baker, butcher,  grocer,  ironmonger, chemist and hairdresser,

(no candlestick maker sadly!) as  well  as a doctor, district nurse and library.

A café and 2  restaurants  ensure a pleasant pause!

(a gastronomic: "Les Sens" 50 yards away and a traditional: "Le Vieux Moulin" 5 kms distant)

There are two chargers for electric cars by the Mairie. (need an application on mobile)

There’s a lot to visit and explore locally whether you are sporty (horse riding, canoeing, swimming, hiking, fishing, mountain biking....), tuned into culture (visiting museums, Romanesque churches, Bastide villages, Albi....) or more leisurely, enjoying the local Quercy wines and food;

perhaps savouring your purchases from the colourful local markets.

There are two vineyards near the village: Domaine de Merchien (who make traditional English ale as well!) and Domaine de Mazuc where you can have a tour and purchase wine/beer.

And why not just relax in the garden !
